I have a huge variaty of Copenhagen photos in the archive. If you have a place of particular interest I might have a nice take on that.

Artprints

All Bitamin artprints are Gliclée prints
Giclée prints stand out for their exceptional image quality, color accuracy, and longevity, making them the gold standard for fine art and photographic reproductions. In contrast, normal prints – whether from consumer inkjet or laser printers – are typically lower in resolution, use less durable dye based inks, and are printed on non-archival paper, making them less suitable for art that is meant to last or be displayed long-term
The term “giclée” (pronounced “zhee-clay”) comes from the French word for “to spray,” referencing how the printer sprays pigment-based inks onto the paper or canvas. The technique was invented in 1991.
Difference in pigment based (Giclée print) versus dye based ink
Pigment based
- Composition: Contains tiny solid pigment particles suspended in liquid. These particles sit on top of the paper rather than being absorbed
- Colour and Appearance: Offers slightly less vibrant colors but provides sharper details and better color stability over time
- Durability and Longevity: Much more resistant to fading, UV light, and water. Suitable for archival and long-lasting prints – can last for decades or even centuries under proper conditions
- Water Resistance: Highly water-resistant; pigment particles are less likely to dissolve or smear
- Typical Uses: Fine art, archival prints, professional photography, and documents requiring longevity and durability
Dye based
- Composition: The colorant is fully dissolved in a liquid (usually water), making the ink a true solution. This allows the ink to be absorbed into the paper fibers
- Colour and Appearance: Produces more vibrant, saturated colors and deeper blacks, making it popular for photo printing and images where color intensity is key
- Durability and Longevity: More prone to fading from exposure to light and moisture. Prints can degrade within a few years unless stored carefully
- Water Resistance: Not water-resistant; ink can run or blur if exposed to moisture
- Typical Uses: Everyday printing, vibrant photo prints, and projects where cost and color intensity are priorities
